Summer is here, so to make the most of it we’ll be having a HUGE barbecue on the College Lane playing field on Tuesday the 18th of May. Food will be flying off the grill from about 6pm so come down, have fun, and more importantly, bring a friend!

Two upcoming dates for the diary!
Friday 23rd April – UH FUSION! (Club De Hav) 8:30pm-1am.
Saturday 24th April – The God Confusion. (Prince Edward Hall) 4-6pm.

For unity and for outreach we are joining together with all the Christian fellowships at UH for two big events this year. The first is a FUSION night – a mix of djs, artists and performers come together for one big night at Club De Hav on Friday 23rd April! Invite your friends – free entry for all students! Join the facebook event!

This event then leads on to a light Saturday seminar from 4-6pm in the Prince Edward Hall. This is a great opportunity to invite friends and come hear two great speakers looking at the topic ‘The God Confusion’. How can we know God? Why bother with Jesus? Includes free refreshments and a Q&A panel after the talks. See you there!

SET FREE is the new branding for our outreach this term which is all leading up to our missions week in the last week of February. This will be a week of events specifically aimed at your non-Christian friends who might be interested in finding out more about what you believe. We have tons of free stuff to give away and a great line up of speakers, guests and events – Be a part of it!

The Question Cafe (small groups) – Six weeks. Six Questions. Come along to the Key Centre this term each Wednesday night from 7:30pm where we’ll be looking at how to answer tough questions your non-Christian friends might ask you about Christianity. This series leads right up into our missions week and will be a great way to equip yourself with answers to tough questions about history, science, suffering, hell and other religions. Don’t miss out!

MARK’s GOSPEL – New Series!! We have another excellent term ahead of us in our main meetings together each Thursday at 8pm in the Key Centre! Running all the way up to the Easter break we have an exciting line up of speakers and talks as we go through the book of Mark together. Along the way we’re going to be tackling questions such as ‘Why do we evangelise’, ‘why don’t people believe the Good news’ & ‘Will being good get me to heaven’, all the while getting really stuck into the Gospel account and learning more about the person of Jesus Christ.

The guys and girls weekends away are coming up! If you’re interested in coming along we’ll take down names at the next couple of CU meetings – or alternatively just drop us an e-mail.

Here are the upcoming talks in our CU Main Meetings right up until the Christmas Holiday. We’re not having a main meeting in the last two weeks of term. Thursday 10th December is our CU Christmas Party, dinner and open mic night at the Vineyard Church in St. Albans. Wednesday 16th December is our Christmas Carol Service in the Weston Auditorium! Don’t miss out!

This evening event is right on the flip side of our ‘house party’ weekend away and it’ll be a great opportunity to invite your mates along to hear the gospel! We have an Oxford grad called Alex Hicks coming to speak.

We’re also running an Internationals Culture Night on the Monday! Feel free to come along and invite your international mates from your course or halls. See you there!

It’s that time of year! The Annual CU Weekend Away (”Houseparty”) is the 6th-8th November. Keep the dates free in your diary! Sam Corry from St. Paul’s Church will be joining us this year speaking on the subject ‘Life in Christ’. If you want to come along please let us know in person or drop us an e-mail before Saturday 24th October. The weekend costs just £25 a head and includes everything. Hope to see you all there!
