Special Events
In 2009 the CU presented a Christmas Carol Concert at the University for all staff and students. The evening included carols, videos, music from the Soul Survivor Band, mince pies and refreshments, a talk from speaker Roger Carswell, a special guest performance from singer Nike Jemiyo and a special guest visit from Santa! This event is absolutely one of the highlights of the CU calendar and we can’t wait for the next one!!
CHRISTMAS MEAL
The Christmas Meal is a great social event at the end of the Christmas Term to celebrate together before the break. Includes food, dancing, socialising and great photo opportunities!
MISSION WEEK!

Every year we arrange a missions week which is a week of events specifically designed to enable students at the University to hear the Gospel. Each year we aim to get top regional speakers in to speak at our free events. Previous years have included lunch bars, evening talks, discussion meals at students houses, acoustic nights and live shows. This week is great fun and one of the highlights of the year. But more than that it is the central week in getting students at the University who may never have heard about Jesus before to hear about Him.
Weekend Away (“Houseparty”)

“CU House Party is one of the best weekends you can have here at the Uni; it’s an amazing opportunity to get away for a weekend, have loads of fun, meet new people, study the Bible and learn about God. I couldn’t recommend it more!”
Every November the Christian Union arrange a weekend away together for all it’s members – This is one of the highlights of the year – not to be missed!
GUY’S WEEKEND AWAY
Every year (usually in November) there is a weekend away for all the guys at the CU. It’s another great opportunity in the year to get to know each other and look at what it means to be a man of Christ. Last year we went to a place called ‘The Barn’ which has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, juke box and full size snooker table. Great fun! Bookings for 2010 soon!
GIRL’S WEEKEND AWAY

The Girl’s weekend is an annual weekend trip for all the girls at the CU. It’s a great opportunity to relax, have fun, get to know each other and get to know God. This years trip was at the Barn in Hertfordshire and included swimming in the indoor pool, a photo challenge, a film night as well as seminars on ‘wisdom’ and ‘relationships’.
